Fourth Quarter Push Falls Short for Hawks Against the Knights
ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hartwick suffered a tough loss on Friday night as their late 4
th quarter push fell short against Mount Saint Mary College in the opening game of the Oneonta-Hartwick Classic.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks opened the Oneonta-Hartwick Classic with a quick three from Angelina Maselli (Burlington, Conn.).
- After a couple of free-throws by the Knights, Daniella DeBiase (Staten Island, N.Y.) gave Hartwick a four-point lead, converting the non-traditional three-point play with a layup and good free throw.
- The Hawks continued to stay ahead of Mt. St. Mary through the remainder of the first quarter, shooting 42% from the floor.
- Hartwick extended their lead to 11 points with just over eight minutes remaining in the half.
- However, the Knights chipped away, picking 10-point up off of Hawk turnovers to knot the score at 29-29 at the end of the half.
- Hartwick went back on top early in the 3rd quarter behind early buckets from Isabella Astorino (Warwick, N.Y.) and Sareena DiCerbo (Schenectady, N.Y.).
- The Knights once again battled their way back, taking their first lead with just under three minutes to go in the quarter.
- Mt. St. Mary continued to build on their lead throughout the 4th eventually pulling away by 13 at both the 6:32 mark and the 2:43 mark.
- Hartwick responded in the final two minutes, cutting the Knight's lead to just six behind two key free throws from DiCerbo.
- Unfortunately, the Hawks could not sustain the momentum ultimately falling 61-53.
- Astorino picked up a double-double in the contest with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
- Bree Fargnoli (Binghamton, N.Y.) led all Hartwick scorers with 11.

Hartwick will look to bounce back quickly for their second contest of the Classic, tipping off against Hamilton College at 2 PM at SUNY Oneonta.
