Hawks Tie for 3rd at Saturday’s Home Show

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Equestrian team hosted their home show on Saturday in sub-freezing temperatures, but came away tied for a 3rd place finish, their highest placing of the season.
 
TEAM RESULTS
 
  • 1st - Skidmore - 47 pts
  • 2nd - Siena - 32 pts
  • 3rd - Hartwick - 27 pts
  • 3rd - Colgate - 27 pts
  • 5th - Morrisville - 26 pts
  • 5th - Cobleskill - 26 pts
  • 7th - RPI - 24 pts
  • 8th - Oneonta - 16 pts
  • 9th - UAlbany - 7 pts
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • Nuria Santos (Bilbao, Spain) led the way in the show for the Hawks, placing 1st in Intermediate Flat and 2nd in Intermediate Fences.
  • The finishes put Santos in a four-way tie for Reserve High Point Rider, but the tie-break eventually went to another rider.
  • Catie Cleveland (Oneonta, N.Y.) continued her strong start to 2023, with a 2nd place finish in Limit Fences.
  • Hartwick picked up points with two 3rd place finishes, the first was Serinah Palafox (Staten Island, N.Y.) in Limit Flat, while the other was Halle Feane (Little Falls, N.Y.) in Introductory Flat
  • Welles Fagan (West Nyack, N.Y.) rounded out the Hartwick finishes, with a 5th place finish in Novice Flat.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
 
The Hawks head north next weekend for a show at SUNY Morrisville on Saturday, March 4.  Competition starts at 8:30 AM.
