Class of 2022 Athletics Hall of Fame Enshrined on Saturday

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hartwick College Athletic Department officially enshrined six new members into their Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in an evening ceremony held in Lambros Arena.

The 2022 class was composed of six former student-athletes:  Andrea Wight '92 (Women's Swimming and Diving), Ida Fiumefreddo Wozniak '96 (Women's Lacrosse), Keith Flaherty '96 (Baseball), Cassandra Holleran Godfrey '05 (Field Hockey), Matt Willis '06 (Football), and Jan Cocozziello '09 (Men's Basketball).

Throughout the evening, family, friends, and distinguished guests heard speeches from each inductee and their presenter.  Stories of times in the area of competition were common, but the sharing of their fond memories of being a part of 'Wick Athletics and the Hartwick community as a whole were highlights of the evening.

"When the Hall of Fame Committee convened earlier this academic year, we found ourselves with 85 eligible candidates.  The six inducted tonight rose to the top during our voting process which is a testament to the level of hard work and dedication that they gave to Hartwick across their four-year athletic careers," commented Director of Athletics, John Czarnecki at the conclusion of the ceremony.

The Hartwick College Athletics Hall of Fame honors those who have made outstanding contributions to Hartwick's intercollegiate athletics programs.  Its purpose is to perpetuate the memory of those who have brought distinction, honor, and excellence to Hartwick College through their athletic accomplishments.  With the addition of the 2022 class, the Athletic Department will have inducted 168 former student-athletes, coaches, teams, and supporters into the Hall of Fame.

The Class of 2022 is the final class that will be inducted in a ceremony that does not coincide with the calendar year.  The 2023 Hall of Fame induction will occur once again over True Blue weekend in September.
