Hawks Reign over Monarchs with 17-2 Non-Conference Win

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Hartwick Women's Lacrosse hit the road for the second time this season, picking up a big non-conference win over the NY/PA border against the King's College Monarchs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
 
  • The Hawks rattled off three goals in quick succession across the span of a minute starting with Hanna Goodreau (North Reading, Mass.) tallying her 8th goal of the season just 34 seconds into the contest.
  • King's College picked up a goal at the 10:36 mark in the 1st quarter, but Hartwick closed out the opening 15 minutes of play putting away six straight goals.
  • The visitors picked up where they left off, scoring three goals in the 2nd quarter earning the mercy rule running clock before halftime.
  • Hartwick only allowed one additional goal in the contest at the 4:49 mark in the 3rd, but went on to score five in the second half to secure the 17-2 victory.
  • Kristen Vaccarelli (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and Claudia Pollaro (Queensbury, N.Y.) led the Hawks offensively, scoring six and four goals respectively.
  • Ellie Masterpole (Syracuse, N.Y.), Emily Madigan (Syracuse, N.Y.), and Goodreau finished with two goals apiece, while Katrina Marten (Middlesex, N.Y.) tacked on one.
  • Maddi Morrison (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) picked up her third win for the Hawks, recording four saves.
 
UP NEXT FOR THE HAWKS
The Hawks head to the North Country on Wednesday the 22nd for a spring break non-conference contest against SUNY Canton at 4 PM.
