WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Hartwick and Delhi squared off under the lights, as the game got underway, the Hawks back line would be tested with some early pressure but nothing they could not handle.
-
The opposition formed a dangerous attack where they put up two shots on goal, the first was stopped by a diving Dante Gesamondo (Lynnfield, Mass.), the rebound shot seemed like it was destined for the back of the net until Thomas Herzog (Ridge, N.Y.) got a foot on the ball and booted it away from danger.
-
As the first half was coming to a close, the Hawks crafted an attack of their own where Andres Ordonez Acosta (Estado de Mexico, Mexico) posted the only shot of the half for the Hawks but the attempt was saved.
-
Hartwick continued to possess the ball with purpose in the second half of the game, controlling the middle of the field looking to create an opportunity on the Broncos defense. Coach Scott's squad began to whittle down the defense, pushing through into the opposing third.
-
Nick Nowak (Shoreham, N.Y.) would run the ball all the way down the left wing warding off an opponent, Nowak slipped through into the corner of the box where he slotted a pass into the oncoming Sean Burke (West Midlands, United Kingdom) for the first goal of the game in the 77th minute.
-
Gesamondo commanded his defense to a stellar performance as he notched his first clean sheet of the season as well as picking up four saves on the night.
