ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks went to 3-3 in Empire 8 play on Saturday afternoon with a 60-51 win over Elmira College.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks and the Soaring Eagles traded baskets throughout the 1st quarter with the lead changing hands six times throughout the first 10 minutes of play.
- Hartwick carried just a two-point lead into the 2nd quarter, but turned things up a notch to ultimately take a 31-24 lead at the half.
- Seniors, Sareena DiCerbo (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Angelina Maselli (Burlington, Conn.) led Hartwick throughout the first half offensively.
- DiCerbo posted 11 points across the first 20 minutes of action, while Maselli shot 3 for 4 from the arc for nine points.
- Elmira rallied back briefly in the 3rd quarter, starting the second half with a 6-1 run to tie the contest up at 32-32.
- However, Bree Fargnoli (Binghamton, N.Y.) got hot, nailing a three to go ahead 35-32. The bucket was the first three points of eight for the senior in the quarter.
- Despite both squads scoring 12 points each in the quarter, the Hawks held their lead heading into the 4th.
- The Soaring Eagles continued to keep it close in the 4th, but the Hawks were able to outlast their visitors down the stretch to claim the win.
- DiCerbo made an impact across the board on the afternoon, posting 15 points, 12 boards, and two blocks. The forward also drew eight fouls and in turn went 7-9 from the line.
- Fargnoli shot 50% from behind the arc and finished with 13 points, while Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.) nearly completed a double-double of her own, scoring 12 points and pulling down 9 rebounds.
