Oneonta, N.Y. – The Hartwick Women's Swim and Dive team competed against conference opponent Alfred in their final home meet this season.

Before the meet, Hartwick recognized its three seniors. Meghan Geczy (Queensbury, N.Y.), Ellie Baird (Wilton, N.Y.) and Victoria Balfe (Saint Joseph, MI.).

The Women began their afternoon with the 200 yard medley relay, the grouping of Bree Dy (Matawan, NJ), Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Amanda Wilbur (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) and Courtney Pierce (Fulton, N.Y.) finishing with a time of one minute and fifty seven seconds, taking first place.

Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) took first place in the 1000 yard freestyle, clocking in at eleven minutes and forty three seconds. Russo finished the 500 yard freestyle in five minutes and forty seconds, grabbing first place.

Baird finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of two minutes and five seconds to keep up the momentum for the Hawks. Dy clocked in at one minute and five seconds in the 100 yard breaststroke to take first place as well in the following event.

The 100 yard breaststroke followed and the event would also go to Hartwick as Chen completed her race first in one minute and ten seconds. Chen also grabbed first in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of two minutes and thirty four seconds.

Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, N.Y.) took the 200 yard backstroke to get Hartwick back on track after Alfred showed resistance by grabbing wins in the two prior events. DeCarlo finished in two minutes and twenty four seconds.

Chen grabbed her third event by winning the 200 IM with a time of two minutes and twenty three seconds.

The meet came to a close with the 200 yard freestyle relay, Russo, Pierce, Geczy and Baird completed the relay in one minute and 48 seconds, taking first to end the day on an exclamation point.
