ONEONTA, N.Y. – Over the course of the last month, Academic All-District Teams for men's soccer, women's soccer, women's volleyball, and football have been announced by the College Sports Communicators association. Overall, Hartwick had six student-athletes recognized.
Junior transfer,
Sean Burke (West Midlands, England) picked up the honor for men's soccer, while senior
Madi McGuire (Goshen, N.Y.) received the honor on the women's side.
Three women's volleyball student-athletes were nominated, starting with junior
Staecia Silofau (Kapolei, Hawaii), making her second appearance on the list.
Shelby Swartz (Candor, N.Y.) and
Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, Me.) rounded out Hartwick's selections.
Finally,
Nate Rath (Newport, N.Y.) made his second-straight appearance for football.
In order to be eligible for both All-District consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, hold a 3.30 cumulative GPA or above and be a starter or important reserve for their respective teams.
