- Hartwick put six of their seven shots on goal throughout the 1st quarter, but came up empty.
- The Hawks took complete control in the 2nd quarter, outshooting Brockport 7-1.
- Hartwick's efforts paid off in the 27th minute, when Katelyn Klotz (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) deposited a rebound from Danielle Hand's (Queensbury, N.Y.) initial shot into the back of the cage to take the 1-0 advantage.
- The visiting Hawks nearly gave themselves a two-goal lead early in the 3rd quarter as they were granted a penalty strike in the 32nd minute.
- Unfortunately, Jessica Betts (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) missed just high and left to keep the score at 1-0 in favor of Hartwick.
- The Hawks eventually gained the two-goal lead just over four minutes later when Hand forced her way into the right side of the circle and slipped a shot just past the Golden Eagles' keeper for the tally.
- Hartwick continued to stay on the offensive throughout the remainder of the 3rd and 4th quarters but were unable to extend their lead.
- Though Brockport was able to deny the Hawks' attempts at extending their lead, it was Hartwick's defense who helped lock down the 2-0, holding the Golden Eagles to just two shots from the start of the 2nd quarter on.
- Senior goalkeeper, Ashley Luppens (Wading River, N.Y.) earned the shutout victory in the cage for the Hartwick, collecting three saves across the 60 minutes of action.
- "We are so proud of the team's composure on defense down the stretch and their execution on offense," commented Head Coach Erin Autera, postgame. "The team was locked in for the full 60 and we are looking forward to Sunday!"
