Vaccarelli Selected to IWLCA All-Region Second Team

ONEONTA N.Y. - Junior Midfield Kristen Vaccarelli (Dix Hills, N.Y.) has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region Second Team in the Empire Region for the second consecutive season.

 

Vaccarelli dominated the midfield this season, controlling all facets of the game by leading the Hawks in goals, draw controls, ground balls, caused turnovers and is tied for the team lead in points. Kristen finished second in the Empire 8 Conference with 58 goals and a 3.87 average goals per game, she also tied for fourth in the conference with fellow Hawk Katrina Marten (Middlesex, N.Y.) for an average of four points per game. Kristen earned one Empire 8 Player of the Week honor this season.

 

Outside of the Empire 8 Conference, Vaccarelli made her mark on the NCAA Division III statistical leaderboard, finishing the season ranked 31st with 6.67 shots on goal per game. Kristen was ranked #11 in the nation earlier this season, carrying a 1.50 free position goal average per game.

 

Kristen notched a handful of single game records, posting a season high of nine points on seven goals and two assists in a win over Western New England on March 21st, placing her 5th All-Time with seven goals in a game and tied for 2nd All-Time with nine points in a game. Vaccarelli also placed 5th All-Time with seven ground balls against Nazareth, tied for 10th All-Time with four caused turnovers vs Nazareth and tied for 4th All-Time with ten draw controls vs SUNY Morrisville and SUNY Oneonta.

 

Vaccarelli broke into the All-Time Top 10 for career goals as well, scoring five goals in a home victory against Alfred on April 20th, bringing her to 155 career goals. She currently sits at 160 goals, ten away from moving into 9th place. With 187 career points, Kristen will enter the 2025 season just three points away from becoming 10th All-Time.
