PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Hartwick Hawks Men's Track and Field program completed the 2024 Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by St. John Fisher.

The 4x100 relay marked the start of Day 2 for the Hawks as Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, Md.), Josh Worrell (White Plains, N.Y.), Marquis Jones-McKinney (Astoria, N.Y.) and Quran Best (Bronx, N.Y.) placed fifth with a 45.43 second finish.

Hans Higgins (Buffalo, N.Y.) kept up the momentum, placing 11th in the 800 meter event with a finishing mark of two minutes and two seconds.

Luca Montesano (Coram, N.Y) placed in the top half in 400 meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in one minute and two seconds, placing seventh to keep the Hawks rolling.

Patrick Conteh (Salisbury, Md.) was the top finisher for the Hawks in the 200 meter, finishing the event with a time of 23.72 seconds. Best followed closely, clocking in at 23.85 seconds.

The 4x400 relay was the last track event of the day as Joe Catalano (Chester, N.Y.), Montesano, Conteh, and Higgins completed the race in three minutes and thirty six seconds, placing sixth.

Jones-McKinney competed in the lone field event for the Hawks, scoring 1.79 for a 6th place finish in the high jump.
