Hartwick vs Alfred St.
- The Hawks fought through adversity on Saturday afternoon, playing four close sets with the Alfred State Pioneers at the SUNY Oneonta tournament.
- Fortunately, the Hawks were on the winning side of three of those sets to remain unbeaten with a 3-1 win.
- Hartwick was dominant defensively, holding the Pioneers to a negative hitting percentage in the first set and picking up 10 total blocks to just five for Alfred State across all four sets.
- Staecia Silofau (Kapolei, Hawaii) was dominant for the Hawks, putting away 16 kills.
- Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, Me.) also collected double digit kills with 10.
- Thornton and Braelyn Hornick (Candor, N.Y.) contributed four block assists each in the match.
Hartwick vs Marywood
- After the four-set win over Alfred State, the Hawks turned their attention to Marywood.
- The Hawks made quick work of the pacers, holding them to four or less kills per set on their way to a 3-0 win.
- Hartwick spread the offense around with eight Hawks recording at least one kill.
- Mary Kinnane (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) posted a strong serving performance, putting away six aces.
