ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Hawks continued their positive momentum, winning their final non-conference test before Empire 8 competition begins with 3-0 win over SUNY Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Hawks started their first set strong both offensively and defensively, putting away 12 kills on just 22 attempts for a .455 hitting percentage while holding their counterparts to just six kills and a negative hitting percentage.
- After taking the first set win 25-14, the Hawks found themselves in a battle with the Mustangs in the second with the score changing hands four times throughout the set.
- Fortunately, Hartwick put together a run late in the set, capped off by a Staecia Silofau (Kapolei, Hawaii) ace to put the Hawks up 22-20.
- The Hawks stayed a step ahead of the Mustangs from there, taking the set 25-22.
- The Mustangs continued to put the pressure on the Hawks throughout the third set, but Hartwick was able to ride out their lead to finish the set with a 25-20 win to complete the three-set sweep.
- Shelby Swartz (Candor, N.Y.) came up big for the Hawks putting away 14 kills while committing just three errors for a .423 hitting percentage. The junior outside hitter also contributed two aces to the offensive attack.
- While no other Hawk notched double digits in kills, Braelyn Hornick (Candor, N.Y.), Mackenzie Cahan (Ballston Spa, N.Y.), and Silofau were dominant with their serves as each tallied three aces.
- Defensively, the Hawks stuffed the Mustangs 14 times at the net with Aaliyah Williams (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) leading the way with five block assists.
