MAHWAH, N.J. - The women's swimming & diving team came out with a big Tri-Match victory against both the Ramapo Roadrunners and John Jay Bloodhounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks opened the meet with a first and third place win in the 200 yard medley relay, with the winning team made up of Cassidy Payrot (Cicero, NY), Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Aubrey Vaile (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and Anna Bischoff (Oneonta, N.Y.). Vaile would later go on to post a big first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, beating her opponents by almost a tenth of a second. She would also go on to snag third in the 100 yard freestyle event.
Cate Russo (San Pedro, Cal.) and Katie Vieira (South Windsor, Conn.) would take second and third place, respectively, in both the women's 1000 yard freestyle and the women's 200 yard freestyle, though they would just barely trail Ramapo. Payrot struck again for a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, beating out ten other swimmers.
Chen would then go on to secure a solid first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke and the 200 yard breastroke, followed closely behind in both events by first-year Angie Testani (Endicott, NY). Danielle DeCarlo (Whitesboro, NY) also had a very nice finish in the 200 yard butterfly alongside third place recipient Hope Valent (Cary, NC). Kate Gucciardi (Cicero, N.Y.) in the 200 yard backstroke also made waves in a first place finish.
Despite not securing first place for the 500 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly, the Hawks made up for it by sweeping the top three spots in the 200 yard individual medley. Chen would post yet another first-place finish, followed closely by Valent and DeCarlo.
The day ended with the 200 yard freestyle relay, with Vaile, Russo, Gucciardi, and Bischoff beating out their competition with a nice time of 1:47.21. Overall, the Hawks would win the Tri-Match after beating Ramapo 140.5-98.5 and John Jay 198-36 in points.
