ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hartwick College Head Football Coach, Matt Rogers, has announced the addition of Christian Legagneur to his football coaching staff as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach, effective Monday, March 24th. 

Legagneur comes to Hartwick after serving as Graduate Assistant Corners Coach at Utica University in spring 2024. During his time with the Pioneers, Legagneur held a variety of other titles, including JV Head Coach, Social Media Coordinator, Equipment Manager, Co-Film Coordinator, Safeties Coach in the fall 2023 season, and Outside Linebackers Coach in spring 2023.

"I am really excited to add Christian to our staff. He brings a ton of Empire 8 experience and he knows what winning football looks like," says Rogers. "He is a proven recruiter and teacher and his relationships with our players will be extremely beneficial for us as we build this program." 

During his time as a student-athlete, Legagneur tallied numerous athletic accolades, including a two-time selection to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team (2021/2022) as a defensive back and 2021 All-Region Safety Honors. In his 2022 season with the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons, he was also selected as a captain.
