WEST CHESTER, PA- The Hartwick Outdoor Track and Field program kicked off their 2025 campaign with solid results at the Purple and Gold Open, hosted by West Chester University.

The Hawks kicked off Day One with the 5000 meter race as Brynita Haas (Red Creek, N.Y.) posted a fourth place finish, timing in at 19:48.72. Julia Weinschreider (Williamson, N.Y.) crossed the finish line in 20:29.12.

Iona Stum (Oreland, Pa.) opened the field events with the hammer throw, posting a final score of 21.10m.

Haas and Weinschreider kept rolling, finishing in 20th and 22nd place in the 1500 meter race to wrap up distance events on Day Two. Addison Shank (Emmaus, Pa.) posted a strong performance as well, coming in at 6:03.17.

Pepita Graham (Schenectady, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Hawks in the 200 meter, clocking in at 28.47 seconds.

Shank represented the Hawks in the 800 meter event, completing her race in two minutes and 51 seconds, taking 16th place.

Stum and Cora Zahn (Queensbury, N.Y.) started field events for the Hawks on Day Two, collecting respective scores of 7.12m and 5.64m in the shot put event.

The Hawks wrapped up their opening meet, placing 16th of 21 amongst several Division II programs.

Hartwick opened their first outdoor meet with Devon Spalding (Mineola, N.Y.) securing a top five finish in the 5000 meter, crossing the finish line in 18 minutes and three seconds. Larry McCumiskey (Delhi, N.Y.) followed closely, coming in just five seconds after.

Noah Curtis (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) headlined the field events in Day One, scoring 30.09mm in the hammer throw.

Cody Bazemore (Bel Air, Md.) was the top finisher in the 100 meter, timing in at 11.85 seconds. Quran Best (Bronx, N.Y.) was the next to cross, coming in at 11.96 seconds to begin Day Two.

Patrick Conteh (Salisbury, Md.) kept the Hawks cruising with a 24.20 second finish in the 200 meter event to start his outdoor campaign.

Will Mensah (Cliffwood, N.J.) blazed through the 400 meter, clocking in at 57.54 seconds.

Erik Higgins (Buffalo, N.Y.) was the lone Hawk in the 800 meter event, posting a finish of two minutes and 14 seconds.

Marquis Jones-McKinney (Astoria, N.Y.) looks to find his groove in the high jump for the outdoor season, scoring 1.70 to tie for eighth place.

Corey Quomony (Aberdeen, Md.) started his outdoor campaign with a strong top ten finish in the long jump, scoring 5.82mm, taking eighth place.

Thomas Stiles (Shrewsbury, N.J.) competed in the javelin event, scoring 28.58 to wrap up his day.

The Hawks wrapped up their meet as Joseph Fay (Walton, N.Y.) and Clyde Solide (Lynbrook, N.Y.) posted strong results in the shot put, Fay took 14th with a score of 10.50mm and Solide swiped 18th with a score of 9.51mm.

The Hawks will prepare for Utica's Almost Spring Invite on Saturday, March 29th, slated for a 10AM start at Utica University.
