Min-Syun Chen (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Cody Bazemore (Bel Air, Md.) were named Hawks of the Week following standout performances this past weekend, marking the first weekly honor of the new year for both student-athletes.

Chen delivered a dominant showing in Hartwick's final tri-meet of the season on Saturday at Moyer Pool, helping propel the Hawks to victories over Springfield College and Union College. She opened the meet as part of the winning 200 medley relay team, which cruised to a first-place finish in 1:56.22. Chen then swept the breaststroke events, capturing wins in the 100 breast (1:10.93) and 200 breast (2:34.45) to secure the sweep over the Pride and Garnet Chargers.

The Hartwick Swim and Dive team will close out its home schedule on Saturday, January 17, hosting Empire 8 rival Alfred University at 1 p.m. at Moyer Pool.

Bazemore has been electric to open the 2026 season, shattering another program record, this time in the 60-meter dash. Competing at Cornell's Southern Tier Invite, Bazemore blazed to a first-place finish in the preliminary round, clocking a program-best 6.93 seconds against Division I competition. He followed with a third-place finish in the final, earning both AARTFC and Empire 8 qualifying marks.

The Hartwick Track and Field team will compete at the Utica Winter Opener on Friday, January 16, while a select group, including Bazemore, will travel to the Armory in New York City.
