ONEONTA, N.Y. — The Hartwick Women's Basketball team placed four student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must compete in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start in a minimum of 66 percent of contests.
Leading the selections was standout junior Macy Durkin (Syracuse, N.Y.), who earns her second Academic All-District nod following a stellar campaign. The Syracuse native posted career highs across multiple categories, averaging a double-double with 11.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Durkin led the team in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks, totaling 281 points, 183 rebounds, 74 steals, and 25 blocks. Her all-around performance earned her Empire 8 Third Team All-Conference honors.
Emma Cohen (Utica, N.Y.) and Trinity Thornton (Sherburne, N.Y.) also garnered repeat recognition, each securing their second Academic All-District selection. Cohen turned in a strong senior season, averaging 10.8 points per game while leading the team with 36 three-pointers. Thornton appeared in all 25 games for the Hawks, contributing 72 points, 33 rebounds, six steals, and two blocks.
Natalie Vredenburgh (Delhi, N.Y.) rounds out the honorees with her first Academic All-District selection. The sophomore made her impact felt across the stat sheet, recording 43 points, 41 rebounds, five steals, and one block while consistently providing energy and momentum throughout the season.
