ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Hartwick Men's Lacrosse program saw two Hawks earn Empire 8 All-Conference honors, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.
Senior attackman Colin August (Garrison, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Liam McManus (Skillman, N.J.) were both named to the Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team following strong 2026 campaigns. August earns his third consecutive Second Team selection, while McManus picks up his first career all-conference honor.
August delivered a standout senior season, serving as the driving force behind Hartwick's offense. He tallied 62 goals on the year, tying the program record, while making his presence felt all over the field. The Garrison native led the team in both ground balls (66) and caused turnovers (27), showcasing his all-around impact. For his performance, August was twice named Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week and also earned a spot on the USILA Division III Team of the Week.
McManus turned in a strong senior campaign of his own, breaking out for a 50-point season with career highs of 33 goals and 17 assists. He also contributed 16 ground balls and caused five turnovers, continuing to elevate his game across the board. Together, August and McManus provided steady leadership and production on the offensive end, consistently stepping up for the Blue and White throughout the season.
In addition to the all-conference honors, Colby Simonetti (Pittsford, N.Y.) was named Hartwick's representative for the Empire 8 Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen.
