ELMIRA, NY - Hartwick lost its opening match at the Elmira College Tournament on Friday to the host Soaring Eagles in three straight sets. Game scores were 25-21, 25-20, 25-19. The Hawks, with the loss, slip to 1-4 on the year.

The Hawks matched a season-high 36 digs as a team in the contest. Senior Darcy Dolge (La Grande, OR/La Grande) led 'Wick with seven kills. Lauren Mausert (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) and Tori Beck (Quakertown, PA) combined for 23 digs. Mausert recorded 13 with Beck earning 12.

The Hawks will conclude play at the tournament tomorrow with a pair of matches.
