HOBOKEN, NJ - Hartwick was defeated by Stevens on Sunday 9-0 in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Hawks are now 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the Empire 8. The Ducks improve to 9-1 on the year and are 5-1 in the Empire 8.
The Ducks took all three doubles matches to start off the day. Carly Jesset (Shelburne, VT/Champlain Valley Union), and Emily Scarano (Little Falls, NY/ Little Falls) put up a strong fight in the third doubles flight but fell 8-6 to Mine Bese and Morgan Scaizi.
Hartwick lost in straight sets in all six singles matches. Angelica Cofer (Litchfield, CT/ Litchfield) came up short by a score of 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), in second singles. Lauren Michaels (Clinton, NY/ Clinton) also put up a solid fight in the sixth singles flight. She fell to Alexandra Handel by a score of 6-3, 7-6, (7-2).
The Hawks will look to rebound as they travel to face RPI on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
