Evans Sets College Record in 16-11 Win Over Colorado State

PRINCETON, NJ - Senior Christina Evans (Cedar Hills, UT/Lone Peak) scored nine times in Hartwick's five-goal win over Colorado State on Sunday at the Princeton University Invitational. Evans' feat breaks the all-time Hartwick single game scoring mark of eight, set by Sheri Johnson in a win over UC Davis in 2004. Evans also added an assist and a steal in the victory. The Hawks are now 10-3 overall with one match to play later this evening.

The game, which was the first meeting between the two programs, was dominated in the first three quarters by the Hawks. 'Wick led 5-2 after one period of play and 9-2 at the half. Hartwick then outscored C-State 6-3 in the third quarter for a 15-5 lead, before the Rams cut into the deficit with six tallies in the fourth quarter.

Evans, whose previous best was seven goals against Carthage in 2008 at Moyer Pool, ranks 6th on the all-time charts in career goals with 263. She is 24 tallies away from passing two-time All-American Bronwyn Knox for 5th.

Jessica McKee (Tustin, CA/Laguna Beach) added four goals for Hartwick. Sasha Freeborn (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake Girls College) tallied twice and Allyssa Analytis (Montreal, Quebec/Sacred Heart) scored one goal. Jess Dorman (Auckland, New Zealand/Diocesan) made nine saves in the contest.

Hartwick wraps up play in the Princeton Invitational at 5:30 p.m. against Wagner.
