BRIDGEPORT, PA – On Monday, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced its 2018 Division I All-America teams. Hartwick senior utility Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary/Rudas HS) was recognized for the third consecutive year. She was named to the third team to become the first Hartwick player to earn the award since Kirsten Hudson in 2010. Sophomore Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia / Elk Island School) received honorable mention All-America honors for the first time in her career.
             
Polak is one of only 24 Division I players nationwide to earn first, second, or third team All-America honors this season. She becomes just the second player in program history, along with Hudson, to receive recognition more than twice.
 
Polak earned CWPA First Team and the CWPA All-Tournament First Team honors for the third straight season while helping Hartwick water polo to a third-place finish at the conference championships for the third time in four seasons. She was also named the league's Most Valuable Player. Polak led the Hawks with 181 points and 72 assists this season, became the program's all-time leading goal scorer (375), and is just the second player in program history to reach 600 points.
 
K?otanchyan joined Polak on the CWPA First Team and the CWPA All-Tournament First Team for the second straight season. She led the Hawks in scoring (112) and steals (69), was second in points (170), and tied for second in assists (58). Kotanchyan's point total tied for fourth all-time at 'Wick in a single season and her 170 points is the third-highest total in Hartwick history.
