BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced its season awards and all-conference teams on Thursday morning. Senior Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary / Rudas HS) was voted as the CWPA Most Valuable Player by the nine league coaches. She also was selected to the first team for the third consecutive season. Sophomore Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia / Elk Island School #368) also landed on the first team for the second straight year.

The two first team picks for the Hawks tie them with the University of Michigan and Indiana University for the most in the league.

Polak, who became the program's all-time leader in goals scored (369) on April 14, leads the Hawks this season in points (170), assists (67), and drawn exclusions (59). She is also second on the team in goals scored (103) and fourth in steals (50).

A two-time CWPA Player of the Week this season, Polak registered 22 goals and 16 assists for 38 points in eight league games. She also registered eight steals, nine exclusions drawn, and two 5-meter exclusions drawn. She recorded a nine-point performance on five goals and four assists in a 20-10 win over George Washington, the Hawks' opponent in the upcoming CWPA quarterfinals, on April 7.

Kotanchyan, last season's CWPA Rookie of the Year, paces Hartwick in goals scored (104). She also sits second in points (158), steals (58), and is third in assists (54) on the squad.

In CWPA games, Kotanchyan has 27 goals and 12 assists for 39 points. She also has 13 steals, eight drawn exclusions, and four field blocks.
