LOUDONVILLE, NY - Seniors Christina Evans (Cedar Hills, UT/Lone Peak) and Kirsten Hudson (Wellington, New Zealand/Sacred Heart) combined for eight goals on Saturday as the Hartwick College women's water polo team downed Siena on the road 16-6. The victory is Hartwick's 18th of the season and improves the Hawks' season mark to 18-4.
Hartwick outscored the Saints in every period, including a big third quarter in which the Hawks scored five of six goals to open up a 13-5 lead. 'Wick remains unbeaten against Siena all-time with an 8-0 record.
Hudson scored four goals and dished out two assists and Evans tallied four times and added one helper for the Blue and White. Junior Jessica McKee (Tustin, CA/Laguna Beach), who broke the 50-goal mark for the season last weekend at the Marist Invitational, tallied twice for her 51st and 52nd tallies and registered a pair of assists.
Reigning CWPA Northern Division Rookie of the Week Lily Martinez (Commerce, CA/Montebello) added two goals, three assists and four steals for the Hawks. Sasha Freeborn (Auckland, New Zealand/Westlake Girls College) contributed two goals and two steals, and Allyssa Analytis (Montreal, Quebec/Sacred Heart) earned three assists.
Jess Dorman (Auckland, New Zealand/Diocesan) and Hayley Cox (El Segundo, CA/El Segundo) combined for the win in goal. Dorman played the first and third quarters making five saves. Cox played the second and fourth quarters with four saves and four steals.
Hartwick has now won nine of its last 10 matches and will play at Bucknell in its next match on April 7th.
