Hudson, Evans Shine on Senior Night

ONEONTA, NY - Eleventh ranked Hartwick (21-4) received all the offense it needed from seniors Kirsten Hudson (Wellington, New Zealand/Sacred Heart), Christina Evans (Cedar Hills, UT/Lone Peak), and junior Jessica McKee (Tustin, CA/Laguna Beach) as the trio combined for all 10 goals in a 10-7 win over Marist (13-13) on Wednesday night at Moyer Pool. The game was the final home match in the stellar careers of Hudson and Evans.

Hudson led the way with four goals. In the process, she broke the 350-goal barrier for her career. With three tallies, Evans brought her career goal total to 240.

The Hawks opened up a tight 2-1 game with four of five goals in the second quarter for a 6-2 lead at the half. The lead swelled to 9-4 before the Red Foxes shaved the deficit to three goals late in the fourth, but they got no closer.

Hartwick goalkeeper Jess Dorman (Auckland, New Zealand/Diocesan) made 11 saves in the game. Marist's Jessica Getchius also stopped 11. Sam Swartz led the Red Foxes with three goals on the night.

With the victory, Hartwick improves to 21-4 overall and 16-1 against Marist all-time. The Hawks have also won 43 consecutive home games dating back to the 2001 season.

The Blue and White wraps up CWPA Northern Division play this Saturday with a pair of games at Harvard University. The Hawks, who play Brown at 3 p.m. and the Crimson at 7 p.m., can clinch their 10th straight division crown with a pair of wins.
