DELHI, NY - The Hartwick women's tennis team was defeated by Ithaca 9-0 on Thursday to fall to 2-1 overall and in Empire 8 play. The Bombers, the defending Empire 8 champions, improve to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference on the season.

The Bombers started the day by taking all three doubles flights. Angelica Cofer (Litchfield, CT/ Litchfield) and Christina Sorrentino (Sherrill, NY/ VVS) were edged out in second doubles, 8-6 by Melanie Cohen and Becky Campbell.

In singles action Cofer put up a solid fight but came up a short at second singles. She was defeated by Cohen, 7-5. 6-4.

The Hawks will look to rebound Saturday at 4 p.m. against Nazareth in Rochester.
