Post Earns Singles Win as Women’s Tennis Falls at RIT

ROCHESTER, NY - Hartwick senior Kim Post (Nashua, NH/North Middlesex Reg.) won her singles match as Hartwick lost to RIT 8-1 on Sunday. With the win, RIT improves to 5-2 on the season and stays unbeaten in the Empire 8 at 4-0. The Hawks fall to 2-3 on the year and 2-3 in the E-8.

Post cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 victory over freshman Sara Bjork in third singles action. With the victory she improves to 4-1 on the season.

Sophomore Lauren Michaels (Clinton, NY/ Clinton) fought hard in the sixth singles flight, as she was narrowly defeated 7-5, 6-2, to Lindsey Gibson.

Christina Sorrentino (Sherrill, NY/ VVS) and Angelica Cofer (Litchfield, CT/ Litchfield) fell 8-4 in second doubles. Seniors Carly Jesset (Shelburne, VT/Champlain Valley Union), and Emily Scarano (Little Falls, NY/ Little Falls) were edged out by two games in third doubles, 8-6.

The Hawks will look to get back to their winning ways as they host Union on Tuesday at 4 P.M.
