ONEONTA, NY- The women's tennis team hosted non-conference opponent RPI and fell by the score of 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon. Hartwick is now 2-6 on the season and RPI improves to 2-1.
The Engineers took all three of the doubles matches. In singles action,
Lauren Michels (Clinton, NY/Clinton) had the toughest match of the day in fourth flight against Amanda Alexander. She dropped the first set 3-6 but came back to take the second set 6-3. The match went to a deciding super tie-breaker where Alexander ultimately took the third set 10-4. In fifth singles,
Britni Stasiuk (Johnson City, NY/Maine-Endwell) went against Brianna Dickie. Stasiuk dropped the first set 6-2 and was behind 4-0 in the second set when the match was stopped due to injury.
The Hawks will play St. John Fisher in Empire 8 play on the road this Saturday at 2 p.m.
