Women’s Tennis Falls to Bombers

ITHACA, NY- The visiting Hartwick women's tennis team played under the roof at Ithaca's new Glazer Arena on Thursday afternoon and were defeated by the Bombers 9-0. 'Wick is now 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the Empire 8 while Ithaca improves to 2-0 overall and in the Empire 8.

In first doubles, Megan Henson (Hinesburg, VT/Champlain Valley) and Courtney Hinds (Montrose, PA/Montrose) fell 8-4 to Becky Guzzo and Allison Young. Nicole Schepisi (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) and Kim Willet (Suffield, CT/Suffield) lost to Becky Campbell and Carly Siegel 8-1 in second doubles. Rebecca Clark (Mexico, NY/Mexico) and Lauren Michels (Clinton, NY/Clinton) had the closest score falling 8-5 to Laurel Salladay and Allison Vizgaitis.

In singles action, Henson played Guzzo tough as she lost 7-5, 6-2 in the third flight. Schepisi came up short against Salladay 6-1, 6-3 in fourth singles. In the second flight, Willet went down to Carly Siegel 6-2, 6-2.

The Hawks return home to face Nazareth on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm.
