PRINCETON, NJ – The Hartwick water polo team led going into the final quarter of play but host Princeton rallied to score four straight times to come away with a 13-10 victory on Friday night.

Lisa Bass (Montreal, Quebec) had three goals to lead Hartwick. Jemma Dendy Young (Cape Town, South Africa) and Allison Kosich (Stockton, CA) both scored twice. Kamila Zakirova (Almaty, Kazakhstan), Natalie Seabourn (Auckland, New Zealand), and Sami Capparelli (Miami, FL) all had one goal each.

Haley Cox (El Segundo, CA) had six saves in goal for Hartwick.

Katie Rigler led the Tigers with four goals. Saranna Sorocka and Kelly Gross scored twice. Ashley Hatcher, Camille Hooks, and Molly McBee all had one goal each.

Kristen Ward stopped nine shots for the Tigers in goal.

Both teams exchanged goals in the game's opening minutes until the Hawks started to pull away with three straight scores to go on top 4-1 at the beginning of the second quarter.

The Tigers would cut the lead to 4-3 in the second with just six minutes remaining. Hartwick would get both goals back to go up 6-3 and would lead 7-6 at halftime.

In the third quarter, two goals by Princeton's Sorocka would bring the Tigers to 8-7 with 6:13 left to play in the quarter. Both teams would continue to exchange goals and Princeton led 10-9 going into the fourth quarter.

In the final quarter, it was all Princeton as the Tigers broke a 10-all tie and scored three straight times to pull out the victory.

Hartwick's record now stands at 23-9. They will next head to Cambridge, MA for a match against Harvard on Tuesday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
