TROY, NY- The women's tennis team visited non-conference opponent RPI and fell by the score of 9-0 on Thursday afternoon. Hartwick's record now stands at 1-2 on the season while the Engineers registered their victory of the season.
The Engineers took all three of the doubles matches. In first doubles,
Megan Henson (Hinesburg, VT/Champlain Valley Union) and
Nicole Schepisi (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) fell by the score of 8-2 to Casey Olson and Emily Laurilliard.
Lauren Michels (Clinton, NY/Clinton) and Rebecca Clark (Mexico, NY/Mexico) dropped an 8-2 decision to Meghan Olson and Amanda Alexander in second doubles. The third doubles team of
Kristen Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt Sinai) and
Lauren Noyes (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) were defeated by the duo of Jessica Buckley and Katrina Bohnhurst 8-1.
In the singles matches, Kasey Olson defeated Henson 6-0, 6-0. Schepisi lost to Christina Ciamarra 6-1, 6-0 in second singles. Michels fell to Meghan Olson 6-1, 6-1. Clark was defeated by Laurilliard 6-1, 6-0. Napolitano and
Lysandra Tetreault (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) both lost by the scores of 6-1, 6-1 in fifth and sixth singles.
The Hawks will host Alfred at the Hartwick Courts this Saturday at 1 p.m.
