Hartwick Women’s Tennis Falls to Nazareth

Lysandra Tetreault lost a super-tiebreaker in fourth singles
ROCHESTER, NY- The Hartwick women's tennis team faced fellow Empire 8 foe Nazareth on Saturday afternoon and fell 7-2. The Hawks are now 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the Empire 8. The Golden Flyers improve to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the Empire 8.

Nazareth took two of the three doubles matches. The duo of Ruth Jones (Ossining, NY/Ossining) and Kristen Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) went to a tiebreaker against Krista Pagan and Ami Petosa and came out on top with a 9-8 victory for the Hawks.

Jones also won in sixth singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Pagan for her third straight singles victory. Lysandra Tetreault's (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) match with Cara Yinger was even and went to a super-tiebreaker where Yinder came out with a 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 win.  Napolitano also had a tough 6-3, 7-5 loss to Petosa in fifth flight.

The Hawks will next face Utica on the road this coming Tuesday at 4 p.m.
