ONEONTA, NY – Visiting Oneonta State defeated Hartwick's men's tennis team 9-0 on Thursday in the Hawks' final non-conference match of the season. The Hawks drop to 0-8 on the campaign while the Red Dragons improve to 8-13 overall.
           
In first doubles, Hartwick's Peter Dumas (Albany, NY/Colonie HS) and Brian Redder (Marion, NY/Williamson Central) were denied their fourth victory of the season in a tight match. They won a total of seven games but eventually fell to Red Dragons Michael Kennelly and Mackenzie Park, 9-7.
           
'Wick's Sean Coppola (Canastota, NY/Canastota HS) and Jefferson Monastoque (Heredia, Costa Rica/Blue Valley School) took two games from Adam Slifkin and Trevor Mitchel in third doubles.
           
Redder, Liam Brown (Suffield, CT/Suffield) and Monastoque secured a pair of games in each of their respective singles matches.
           
Hartwick closes its season with a trio of Empire 8 Conference matches in the next five days. The Hawks hit the road this weekend to play Elmira on Saturday and Utica on Sunday. 'Wick then closes the season at home against Ithaca on Tuesday.
