ONEONTA, NY- The Hartwick women's tennis team hosted Empire 8 rival Nazareth on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks suffered their first defeat of the season as the Golden Flyers won 8-1.
The lone victory for the Hawks was in second singles.
Nicole Schepisi (Rensselaer, NY/Columbia) moved to 2-0 in singles play as she defeated Sara Kashtan 6-3, 6-1.
The longest match of the afternoon was in the third flight as
Rebecca Clark (Mexico, NY/Mexico) faced Jean McCarthy. After battling back to force a tie-breaker, Clark fell to McCarthy 4-6, 7-5, 6-8.
The Hawks return to the court tomorrow when they face Stevens. The first matches will begin at 12 p.m.
