CAMBRIDGE, MA- The #19 Hartwick water polo team lost a close decision to the #8 Princeton Tigers 8-7 in the first of two matches at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday. In the afternoon match, the Hawks fell 10-7 to Wagner. With the two losses, 'Wick drops to 9-7 on the season.

Against the Tigers, the Hawks scored five times in the fourth quarter but a goal by Princeton's Diana Murphy was enough to lift it to the win. It was Murphy's only goal of the contest.

Jemma Dendy Young (Cape Town, South Africa) tallied five goals, two assists, and two steals against the Tigers. Cayley Tonkin (Cape Town, South Africa) scored once. Sami Capparelli (Miami, FL) had a goal, an assist, and two steals. Devon Boyle (Sydney, Australia) had five steals. Michaela Davies (Cronulla, Australia) came up with five blocked shots in the cage.

In the Wagner game, the Seahawks scored four times in the final quarter to outlast the Hawks. Capparelli led Hartwick with three scores and also picked up a steal. Lara Dendy Young (Cape Town, South Africa) scored once. Britt Tait (Kariong, Australia) had a goal, three assists, and two steals. Jemma Dendy Young had a goal, two assists, and three steals. Boyle scored once and had two swipes. Davies totaled five saves in the cage.

Hartwick plays one game tomorrow afternoon. The Hawks will face Brown University at 3:30 p.m.
