CAMBRIDGE, MA- Seven Hawks got into the scoring column as the Hartwick water polo team defeated Brown 14-10 at the Harvard Invite on Sunday afternoon. The win improves 'Wick's record to 10-7 while the Bears fall to 4-8.
Jemma Dendy Young (Cape Town, South Africa) tallied three goals, two assists, one steal, and four drawn kick-outs to lead the team.
Katie Ermakova (Columbia, MD) scored twice, assisted on two goals, picked up one steal, and had had four drawn kick-outs.
Devon Boyle (Sydney, Australia),
Sami Capparelli (Miami, FL), and
Britt Tait (Kariong, Australia) all had a pair of scores.
Anniek Hendriks (Amersfoort, Netherlands) scored once.
Cayley Tonkin (Cape Town, South Africa) had one goal, two assist, and one steal.
Michaela Davies stopped seven shots in the cage and came away with one steal.
Lara Dendy Young (Cape Town, South Africa) chipped in one goal, one assist, three steals, and two drawn kick-outs.
Hartwick is idle next weekend. The Hawks return to action when they head out to California for a week of games. 'Wick will first compete at the Loyola Marymount Invite March 21-22. The Hawks play the host Lions on March 21 followed by Sonoma State. The next day, Hartwick takes on Pomona Pitzer and Whittier Colleges.
