ONEONTA, NY – Nazareth won all nine matches on Sunday in an Empire 8 Conference match at Hartwick Courts. Nazareth improves to 3-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play. The Hawks are 0-9 and 0-4.
'Wick fell just short in second doubles as the duo of
Liam Brown (Suffield, CT/Sufield) and
Jefferson Monastoque (Heredia, Costa Rica/Blue Valley) lost by two games. The Hartwick pair and Nazareth's Scott Trobert and Christian Bryant were all square after 14 games, 7-7. Trobert and Bryant would get the next two games, however, to claim the win.
At first singles,
Brian Redder (Marion, NY/Williamson) took five games from Nazareth's Tyler Williams, 6-4, 6-1.
Will Gilbraith (West Monroe, NY/Paul V. Moore) dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision to Erik Manske and Monastoque won three games at fifth singles against Bryant.
Hartwick will look for its first win on Wednesday when it hosts the Sage Colleges at 4 p.m.
