Hartwick Alum Jason Boltus Named Arena Football League’s Offensive Player of the Week

Jason Boltus, who quarterbacked the Hawks from 2005 to 2008, was named the AFL Offensive Player of the Week
CHICAGO, IL – Former Hartwick quarterback Jason Boltus (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) is racking up big numbers this season for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League.
           
On Tuesday, Boltus was tabbed the AFL Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Sunday's 77-65 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm in which he threw for a career-high nine touchdown passes. Boltus is currently leading the entire AFL in passing yards with 1,886 in six games.
           
'Wick's stalwart signal-caller from 2005-2008 helped the Hawks to their first Empire 8 Conference title and first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2007. He garnered a multitude of honors in his four years at Hartwick, including earning the 2007 Melberger Award as the top football player in Division III, and being selected as a Gagliardi Trophy finalist twice.  
           
The all-time NCAA Division III leader in career yards (14,231), Boltus threw for 13,276 yards and 134 career touchdowns at Hartwick. His passing yardage still ranks 3rd in Division III history with his touchdown pass total ranking 4th all-time.
           
Following his playing days at 'Wick, Boltus was invited to the National Football League's Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, IN. He has played professionally in the Canadian Football League for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and in the Arena Football League with the Utah Blaze, Spokane Shock, and Orlando Predators.
