DELHI, NY – The Hartwick Hawks (8-2, 5-1) dropped their first conference match of the season against visiting Stevens on Saturday. The visiting team was able to sweep competition this afternoon.
The Hawks fell behind early after dropping the doubles matches.
Heidi Rice (Canandaigua, NY/ Marcus Whitman) and
Rose Natoli (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) were close at first doubles losing 8-6 to Stevens' top pair. Hartwick also came close at third doubles with
Caitlin O'Brien (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and
Jaclyn LaSita (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) dropping their match 8-6.
Kelly Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) fell short of another comeback victory at third singles after forcing a third set, losing 3-6, 6-4, (10-7) to Katrina Guido.
The Hawks look to bounce back
