ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick men's tennis saw its two-match winning streak stopped with a 9-0 loss to Stevens Institute of Technology (13-5, 5-0 E8) on Saturday at Hartwick Courts. The Hawks slip to 2-5 overall and 1-5 in league play with the result.
The Ducks led 3-0 after doubles play. Seniors
Brian Redder (Marion, NY/Williamson) and
Will Gilbraith (West Monroe, NY/Paul V. Moore) fell by a count of 8-3 at first doubles to Charles Drake and Danny Polk.
Gilbraith gave a solid effort at third singles. He took five games off Stevens' David Schultz, before falling 6-2, 6-3.
Hartwick looks to get back into the win column on Monday, April 20. The Hawks will host SUNY Delhi in a 4 p.m. home match.
