ALFRED, NY – Host Alfred University earned a 7-2 victory over Hartwick's men's tennis team Sunday. The Hawks fall to 4-7 overall and close out the conference slate 1-7.
             
Hartwick's victories came in second and third singles. Brian Redder (Marion, NY/Williamson) defeated Alfred's Evan Hasins, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second flight. Will Gilbraith (West Monroe, NY/Paul V. Moore) also was victorious at third singles over Mike Graham, 7-6, 6-3.
           
Three Hawks fell in the final set of their singles matches. Liam Brown (Suffield, CT/Suffield) lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Jefferson Monastoque (Heredia, Costa Rica/Blue Valley) was defeated 6-7, 6-0, 10-8. Ross Braue (Canastota, NY/Canastota) was beaten at sixth singles, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.
           
The Hawks conclude their season on Tuesday against SUNY Oneonta.
