ONEONTA, NY – The Hartwick Hawks (1-5, 1-3) dropped a non-conference match this afternoon to SUNY Oswego (9-2) by a score of 8-1. The loss comes on Senior Day with captain
Liam Brown (Suffield, CT/Suffield) being recognized for his four years of competition for Hartwick men's tennis.
The lone win in the match for Hartwick came from
Ross Braue (Canastota, NY/Canastota) at fifth singles. He was able to win in straight sets against Nick Retzkin by a score of 6-4, 6-4 to help secure a two-match win streak on the weekend.
Heidi Rice (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman) played a tight match at fourth singles. She saved four match points, but eventually fell to John Stanford 6-3, 7-6 (11-9).
Hartwick looks to get back into the win column
on Tuesday on the road when it faces off against SUNY Delhi at
4 p.m.
