LEWISBURG, PA – The Hartwick Hawks came away with a 9-6 victory to open up their CWPA season, 9-6, over host Bucknell on Saturday. The Hawks improve to 7-2 on the season.
          
Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary / Rudas HS) scored six times for the Hawks to pace the team.
          
Polak scored twice in the first quarter but the host Bison took a 4-2 lead into the second quarter. The Hawks gained a goal back but still trailed 5-4 at halftime.
          
The two teams were all tied at the end of the quarters, 6-6, but goals from Katie McKenty (Auckland, New Zealand / Takapuna Grammar School), Polak, and Lauren Brennan (Canberra, Australia / St. Clares College) in the fourth quarter would lift the Hawks to the victory.
          
The Hawks next play at the University of Michigan against UC Irvine and Santa Clara on March 4.
