PITTSFORD, NY – Hartwick women's tennis fell 7-2 to St. John Fisher Saturday afternoon at Mendon Racquet and Pool Club. The Hawks are now 4-4 overall and 2-3 in Empire 8 action while the Cardinals move to 5-1 and 3-2 in conference play.
The two Hawks' victories came in singles action to the credit of
Kelly Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) at the second flight and
Kelli Ryan (Plattsburgh, NY/Seton Catholic) at the third.
Napolitano took care of her opponent in two sets, 6-3, 6-2. Ryan took the first set, 6-4 before falling in the second, 3-6. She would then win the tiebreaker to earn the win.
Hartwick returns home Friday, September 29 for a CODE BLUE match against Elmira. The first serve is slated for 4 p.m.
