ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Hartwick women's tennis team took care of Bard, 6-3, on the road Friday evening at Stevenson Courts. The victory keeps the Hawks unbeaten on the season, 3-0, while the Raptors pick up their first loss of the season, 0-1.
Heidi Rice (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman) and
Kelly Napolitano (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai) at no. 1 (8-6) and
Jaclyn LaSita (Wading River, NY/Shoreham-Wading River) and
Kylie Sullivan (Camden, NY/Camden Senior) at no. 2 (9-7) picked up doubles victories for the Hawks as the team headed for the singles portion, 2-1, on the afternoon.
'Wick secured wins at the top four flights to the credit of Rice at no. 1 (0-6, 7-5, 10-5), Napolitano at no. 2 (6-1, 6-4), LaSita at no. 3 (6-4, 3-6, 10-8) and
Sofie Brennan (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) at no. 4 (6-3, 6-4).
The Hawks look to their second conference match of the season against Utica, tomorrow, September 9, at 1 p.m. on the Hartwick Courts.
