Hawks Sweep Day Two of Their Five Game Road Trip

Staten Island, NY – Nationally thirteenth ranked Hartwick was in action today against twelfth ranked Wagner College at the Spiro Sports Center in Staten Island, NY. 'Wick beat the Seahawks 18-17 in overtime in game two of their five game road trip this weekend. In their second game of the day, the Hawks topped St. Francis College Brooklyn 21-11, at the SFC Aquatics Center in Brooklyn, NY.
          
The Seahawks won their first meeting with the Hawks last month. The Hawks would avenge their January loss with a one point win, out-scoring the hosts 3-2 in the extra period.
 
Tori Wilson (Kitchener, ONT / Grand River Collegiate Institute), L.J. Edwards (Encinitas, CA / Cathedral Catholic), and Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary / Rudas) each scored four goals apiece for the Hawks to lead their scoring effort against the Seahawks. Goalie Josette Santos (Huntingdon Beach, CA / Edison H.S.) recorded fourteen saves in the game. Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia / Elk Island School) scored a trio of goals in the win. Lauren Brennan  (Canberra, Australia / St. Clares College), Katie McKenty (Auckland, New Zealand / Takapuna Grammar School), and Charlotte Cottle (Sydney, Australia / Presbyterian Ladies College) each scored a lone goal to round out scoring for the Hawks in their first game.
 
In the second game against St. Francis Brooklyn the score stayed close at half with Wick' holding a narrow 8-7 lead. The Hawks outscored the Terriers 13-4 in the second half to come away with ten point victory.
 
Wilson, McKenty, and Polak each scored a trio of goals to lead scoring in their match against the Terriers. Maryanna Antoniou (Glyfada, Greece / Second General High School of Glyfada), Brennan, Madison Germuska (Encinitas, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.), and Gina Grauer (West Lawn, PA / Wilson H.S.) each scored a pair of goals. Kotanchyan, Nikolina Mihajlovik (Mississauga, ONT / Silverthorn Collegiate Institute), Edwards, and Lissa Westerman (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor H.S.) each scored a lone goal.         
         
'Wick will be in action tomorrow against Siena College at 11 p.m. and Marist College at 2:30 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, NY.
