                     PROVIDENCE RI – Nationally eighteenth ranked Hartwick won both games on the second day of the Brown Invite at Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence, RI Sunday. 'Wick won its first game 14-6 against No. 13 San Diego State University. The Hawks then won their second match against McKendree 21-12 to complete the Hawks' five-game sweep at the Brown Invite.
          
The Hawks shut out the Aztecs 4-0 in the first quarter of their opening game. 'Wick would continue to out-score the Aztecs over the next three quarters to cruise to an eight-point victory.
           
Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia/Elk Island School) scored four goals against the Aztecs to lead the Hawks' scoring in the first game.  
Lauren Brennan (Canbarra, Australia/St. Clares College), 
Tori Wilson (Kitchener, ONT/Grand River Collegiate Institute), and 
Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary/Rudas) scored a trio of goals each. 
L.J. Edwards (Encinitas, CA/Cathedral Catholic) scored a lone goal to round out the Hawks' scoring against the Aztecs. Hawks' goalie 
Josette Santos (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison H.S.) had five saves and five steals to protect 'Wick's lead.
          
In the second game, the Hawks took a three-point lead in the first. In the second quarter, the Bearcats out-scored 'Wick 7-4 to leave the match all tied up at 9-9 going into the half. The Hawks finally put the Bearcats away with eight unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to capture the win 21-12.
           
Wilson and Kotanchyan each scored a trio of goals. Brennan, Polak, 
Maria Moya (Madrid, Spain/Ortega Y Gasset), 
Maryanna Antoniou (Glyfada, Greece/Second General H.S. of Glyfada), and 
Becca Lelles (Boulder City, NV/Boulder City H.S.) each scored a pair of goals in the winning effort.
           
Sarah Lewis (La Jolla, CA/Cathedral H.S.), 
Katie McKenty (Aukland, New Zealand/Takapuna Grammar School), 
Madison Germuska (Encinitas, CA/La Costa Canyon H.S.), 
Gina Grauer (West Lawn, PA/Wilson H.S.), and 
Lissa Westerman (Newport Beach, CA/Newport Harbor H.S.) all scored a goal apiece to round out the Hawks' scoring.
           
Hartwick is off until Friday, February 23 when it travels to Iona for a 7 p.m. game.
