ONEONTA, NY - Nationally thirteenth ranked Hartwick was in action today for a trio of games at home in Moyer Pool. 'Wick defeated Saint Francis University 24-18 in their early morning match. Early in the afternoon, they topped Utica College 18-3. In their last match of the day, 'Wick defeated Mercyhurst University 13-8 to complete their sweep of the day's matches.
           
In the first game, the Hawks had a narrow lead at the end of the first period with a score of 6-5. 'Wick went on to score six goals to the Red Flash's one and led at the half 12-6. The Red Flash kept pace with the Hawks' goals over the second half but were unable to cut into Hartwick's lead. The Hawks went on to win by six goals.
           
Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia / Elk Island School) and Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary / Rudas) each had four goals apiece to lead in scoring against the Red Flash. Maryanna Antoniou (Glyfada Greece / Second General H.S. of Glyfada) scored a trio of goals. Lauren Brennan (Canberra, Australia / St. Clares College), Tori Wilson (Kitchener, ON / Grand River Collegiate Institute), and Katie McKenty (Auckland, New Zealand / Takapuna Grammar School) each scored a pair of goals. Charlotte Cottle (Sydney, Australia / Presbyterian Ladies College), Becca Lelles (Boulder City, NV / Boulder City H.S.), Madison Germuska (Encinitas, CA / La Costa Canyon H.S.), and Sarah Lewis (La Jolla, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.) each scored a lone goal to round out the Hawks' scoring. Sabrina Hartwell (Ann Arbor, MI / Skyline H.S.) racked up seven saves and five steals in goal.   
           
In the second game, 'Wick led 13-2 at the half over Utica. The Hawks would go on to win 18-3 over the Pioneers. Hayley Hill (Fort Lauderdale, FL / Fort Lauderdale H.S.) led the Hawks in scoring with five goals. Emma Aleksandrovic (Belgrade, Serbia / Medicine School Zvezdara) scored a trio of goals. Germuska, Hannah Erbe Smith (San Diego, CA / Scrips Ranch H.S.), Ashley Madrigal-Geary (Sacramento, CA / Christian Brothers H.S.), and Hannah Edwards (Encinitas, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.) each scored a pair of goals. Edra Colbeck (Seattle, WA / Roosevelt H.S.) and Gina Grauer (West Lawn, PA / Wilson H.S.) each had a lone tally to round out scoring. Hartwell recorded eight saves in goal against the Pioneers.
           
In the third game, the Hawks got off to a slow start, leading 2-1 after the first period. Over the course of the next two periods, the Hawks outscored the Lakers 10-4. The Lakers would outscore 'Wick 2-1 in the fourth but were unable to cut into Hartwick's lead. The Hawks went on to win by five goals.
           
L.J. Edwards (Encinitas, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.), Grauer, and Polak paced the Hawks with two goals apiece. Antoniou, Brennan, Wilson, Lewis, McKenty, Colbeck, and Lissa Westerman (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor H.S.) each had one tally. Aleksandrovic had eight saves in goal against the Lakers.
           
The Hawks will be in action tomorrow at home at Moyer Pool for a pair of exhibition games against Dollard Des Ormeaux at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
