Los Angeles, CA - Nationally twelfth ranked Hartwick was in action today for a trio of games on the west coast. 'Wick defeated No. 20 California State Northridge 12-11 in their morning match. Later in the afternoon, they topped Occidental College 24-14. In their last match of the day, 'Wick was defeated by No. 4 UCLA 15-7 to round out the day's matches.
In the first game, the Hawks trailed the Matadors by two and that deficit continued through the end of the third period. The game was all tied up at 10 after the fourth period and needed overtime to decide a winner. After the first overtime period it remained tied at eleven goals each. In sudden death overtime 'Wick took home the win scoring the lone goal of the period.

Zsofia Polak (Dunaujvaros, Hungary / Rudas) led the Hawks scoring with six goals.
Lena Kotanchyan (Moscow, Russia / Elk Island School) had three.
Tori Wilson (Kitchener, ON / Grand River Collegiate Institute),
Katie McKenty (Auckland, New Zealand / Takapuna Grammar School), and
L.J. Edwards (Encinitas, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.) each had a lone goal to round out scoring against the Matadors.

In the second game against Occidental, 'Wick jumped out to an early lead of 6-1 at the end of the first period. The Hawks built on their lead in the second period leading 14-5 at the half. Wick would continue their domination of the Tigers in the second half and go on to win by ten goals.

Maryanna Antoniou (Glyfada Greece / Second General H.S. of Glyfada) and
Sarah Lewis (La Jolla, CA / Cathedral Catholic H.S.) each had seven points apiece to lead the Hawks.
Nikolina Mihajlovik (Mississauga, ON / Silverthorn Collegiate Institute) had a team-high six goals.
Lissa Westerman (Newport Beach, CA / Newport Harbor H.S.) had five goals.
Edra Colbeck (Seattle, WA / Roosevelt H.S.) had four andÂ
Natalie May (Huntington Beach, CA / Edison H.S.),
Gina Grauer (West Lawn, PA / Wilson H.S.), and
Hayley Hill (Fort Lauderdale, FL / Fort Lauderdale H.S.) each scored two goals apiece.
Madison Germuska (Encinitas, CA / La Costa Canyon H.S.) and
Ashley Madrigal-Geary (Sacramento, CA / Christian Brothers H.S.) each scored a lone goal to round out scoring for the Hawks.
Josette Santos (Huntington Beach, CA / Edison H.S.) had eight saves in goal.

In the third game, UCLA jumped out to a three-goal lead after the first period. The Bruins led 8-3 at the half. 'Wick broke even with UCLA in the third scoring two goals apiece but was unable to cut into the Bruins lead. UCLA would go on to win by eight goals.

Kotanchyan led the Hawks in scoring with four goals.
Charlotte Cottle (Sydney, Australia / Presbyterian Ladies College), Polak, and Wilson each scored a goal apiece.
The Hawks will be in action tomorrow with a pair of games against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College at 11 a.m. and Pomona-Pitzer College at 4 p.m.Â
